Early Intervention Services
The Early Intervention Program is a Federal program offered to the San Luis Valley through Blue Peaks Developmental Services that provides developmental supports and services to children from birth up until their third birthday who have special developmental needs. It can help improve your child’s ability to develop and learn. It can also help you and your family learn ways to support and promote your child’s development within your family activities and community life.
If you are concerned that you child is not developing like his or her cousins, your friends children, or their siblings, you can discuss it with your child’s physician at their next appointment. Often times physicians track a child’s development through the years through a questionnaire or developmental screening checklist. You may also check if they are meeting their developmental milestones by checking an online site that talks about development. However, If you have concerns about your child’s development, you can request a free evaluation at any time to answer questions about their development and determine whether your child may benefit from early intervention (EI) services.
